A History of Family With Insurance Expertise and Knowledge.

David J. Jacobs Co., Inc., was founded in 1937 and is proud to be celebrating its 80th year in business. Working diligently day and night, the agency's founder, Abraham Jacobs, began his career as an Insurance Broker working from a public telephone booth using only a piece of paper and pencil.

In the 1950's, David J. Jacobs Co., Inc. continued to grow as the second generation (David Jacobs), moved the Agency to Downtown Brooklyn on Court Street. During that era, Court Street was known as the Mecca of the Insurance Industry. In 1959, Dave Jacobs moved the agency to Long Island where he and his wife Sylvia were raising their family. This year we are pleased to announce that we have relocated our headquarters to Merrick, New York.

In 1970, Dave's son, Allan A. Jacobs, the third generation, joined the company after attending The College of Insurance. Allan, the firm's President/CEO has been responsible for growing the business throughout the 70's, 80's and 90's.

In 1999, Allan's eldest son and fourth generation, Adam K. Jacobs, began working at the Agency after attending Insurance classes at C.W Post University and obtaining his Life, Accident & Health Insurance licenses. Adam continued his education in Insurance while completing his Bachelor's Degree at Hofstra University attending Property & Casualty Insurance classes. Adam is currently the Vice President of the Agency and is the Underwriting Manager of the Property & Casualty Division.

In December of 2010 another 4th generation family member Jeremy F Jacobs joined the firm. Jeremy brings to the table a fresh approach and innovative ideas. Jeremy's background in Public Relations and Marketing has quickly become an asset to the Agency as he heads up the Life, Accident & Health Brokerage Division.

Now in our 80th year, we still look to the future - helping our clients with hands on expertise and care.
